Just finished Scarlet’s Haunted Hotel, and I must say I LOVED this game! From the moment I entered the eerie yet captivating hotel, I was enthralled by the compelling storyline and suspense that kept me on my toes until the very end. The game does an exceptional job of creating an atmosphere filled with intrigue and anticipation. However, I have to admit that the ending left me feeling a bit irritated. While I’m not entirely sure what kind of conclusion I was expecting, it felt somewhat abrupt or unresolved. This has sparked a desire in me for a sequel, which I hope you all are considering!
While the main storyline and gameplay were engaging, I encountered a few minor hiccups that detracted from the overall experience. One of the mini-games, which involved locating an animal in a darkened picture, was a bit frustrating due to its responsiveness issues. Perhaps this was due to phone compatibility or just its slow registration, but it certainly dampened my spirits. For anyone attempting this task, my tip would be to move the circle slowly and wait until it fully loads the confirmed animal. Unfortunately, I found myself in a situation where the game didn’t recognize my completion in a timely manner before the stars would deplete. A gentle stop-and-start method seemed to work better in my case, but this can be quite tedious.
Despite these issues, there remain significant bugs that need addressing. For instance, I repeatedly completed the mini-game in the hall, yet the game consistently showed a progress of 0/1 for the trophy. Similarly, although I believed I was on track to clear all levels in the hall, my progress remained at five levels completed despite having worked through every challenge. Additionally, I struggled to move past the first level of the kitchen because the game would not acknowledge that I had cleaned the tables, leading to constant failures on my part. Nonetheless, I am optimistic and will definitely consider redownloading this game once the bugs are fixed.
Initially, I was thrilled to dive into a new installment from Game House, but while playing level 2, I was disappointed to notice that the characters simply weren’t responding when I clicked on things. This led to frustration that persisted even after I redownloaded the game, leaving me hoping that a patch would be released soon.
On the bright side, I felt that this game lived up to Game House’s legacy of quality. The overall gameplay was smooth and enjoyable, and I found myself quickly immersed in the narrative. I downloaded the game yesterday and am already on level 58, having successfully located all the crows—yes, crows instead of mice, which was a delightful twist! I genuinely love this game and am looking forward to future releases, with my fingers crossed for a part 2 coming out soon. Game House has proven once again that it knows how to captivate its audience.
However, not everything is perfect. While the game’s accessibility on mobile is commendable, I find the necessity of watching advertisements to play past level 5 a bit annoying. In-game advertisements can often feel restrictive and frustrating, especially when they hinder the gaming experience rather than enhance it. Overall, while Scarlet’s Haunted Hotel has its flaws, the game’s charm and potential make it a worthwhile adventure.
